摘要

The issue of whether to rethink prioritisation of substances for registration under the EU's draft chemicals policy looks set to top the Environment Council agenda when ministers meet this month over the draft regulation to register, evaluate, authorize and restrict chemicals (REACH). The bloc's Dutch presidency earlier this year proposed that every attempt should be made to single out the most dangerous chemicals well before firms carry out the registrations which, moreover, could hinge on further criteria (EW, 6 July, p. 1).
