Coca Cola eyes 100 per cent plant-based bottle by 2017

Drinks giant Coca-Cola has signed three joint ventures that could result in its eco-PET bottle being made from 100 per cent plant-based material and put on the market in five to six years, it announced last month. The company's recyclable PlantBottle, rolled out in 2009, is currently made from 30 per cent plant-based material - MEG (mono-ethylene glycol) with PTA (purified terephthalic acid) making up the other 70 per cent.
