An EU court has annulled part of a European Commission decision to refuse access by environmentalist groups to evaluation data for the herbicide, glyphosate. The ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ)'s General Court in October was in favour of a lawsuit brought by Greenpeace and Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Europe in 2011. The result gives the groups access to information on impurities in the technical material and the composition of products. Their aim is to determine the risk of emissions of potentially toxic metabolites and other substances into the environment.
