Former Fuel Terminal Manager Sentenced To Confinement, Probation for Air Violations

A former fuel terminal manager was sentenced Jan. 22 to one year of home confinement and three years of probation following his guilty plea on charges of felony tampering with a vapor recovery monitoring device (United States v. Sivil, N.D. Cal., No. 3:09-cr-00906, sentencing 1/22/10). Chuck Sivil, of Vallejo, Calif., was charged last September with bypassing the vapor recovery unit and allowed volatile organic compounds to escape at the Shore Terminals fuel distribution terminal in violation of the Clean Air Act.
