San Diego Port's Climate Plan Focuses On Emissions From Energy, Transportation

The San Diego Unified Port District has approved a climate action plan that aims for short-range reductions in greenhouse gas emissions via "low-hanging fruit" in the energy and transportation sectors. The board of port commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 10 to approve the plan for reducing emissions from operations on the tidelands under its jurisdiction. The port claimed in a statement to be one of the first such jurisdictions in the nation to adopt such a plan voluntarily.
