DOE Finalizes Efficiency Certification Rules For Makers of HVAC, Refrigeration Equipment

The Energy Department has finalized rules for certifying that commercial heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, water heating and refrigeration equipment comply with energy efficiency requirements. According to a final rule scheduled for publication in the Federal Register May 5, the Energy Department finalized the recommendations of an industry working group on the certification procedures of commercial and industrial equipment "without modification" after having received 10 comments on its February proposed rule (79 Fed.
