FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiaries can tap their contractor's insurer for defense costs incurred during litigation over a deadly gas leak at a Pennsylvania power plant, an Ohio federal judge ruled. Valley Forge Insurance Co. owes a duty to defend the FirstEnergy units, as they're considered "additional insureds" under the policy it issued to the power plant's contractor, Enerfab Inc., Judge Benita Y. Pearson said in an opinion Wednesday.
