A strong commitment to life-long learning has seen Adrian Richards study at all of Adelaide's universities, and many of its TAPE colleges. "I have always focused my studies on acquiring necessary knowledge rather than seeking academic awards." he said. "My studies have equipped me with a well balanced skills set. This has served me far better than achieving a qualification early in my career and then sitting back expecting that this will serve me adequately from that point onwards".rnHe regards achieving his current position of chair of Engineers Australia's College of Biomedical Engineers as a great honour. "We broke some new ground within Engineers Australia when I moved into this role as an engineering technologist, especially as I had reached that point via the articulation process," he said. "But my broad acceptance in that role really demonstrates the current belief in, and understanding of, the engineering team. The whole is certainly much greater than the sum of the parts when it comes to the team concept."
