The winning idea of the Engineers Australia "Make it so" public awareness campaign has been announced. The idea: "Make it so... developing communities can reuse their natural waste to create energy for cooking and heating", was contributed by Abdul Al-Dasooqi, an undergraduate student in South Australia. It was selected by Engineers Australia to demonstrate the pivotal role engineers and engineering teams can play in improving people's quality of life around the world.rnThe announcement was made during Australian Engineering Week, and coincides with the news that 2011 has been declared the Year of Humanitarian Engineering.
