With an impetus to improve flood risk management in the face of a changing climate and the lack of consideration for climate change in the current Australian Rainfall and Runoff (AR&R) publication, Queensland government agencies have completed their own study to recommend a climate change factor for flood studies in local government planning. The study started when the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) approached the Queensland gov-ernment to provide a benchmark figure for taking climate change into account when assessing flooding risk.
