The Golden Mile Loopline Railway in Western Australia is being restored with support from industry and the community. In the early 1900s Boulder Station was central to the Golden Mile Loopline Railway and was once the busiest railway station in Australia (with over 61 trains and up to 100 services each day), servicing the local gold and timber industries as well as providing transportation for the local workforce and shoppers alike. However, as the land that the Loopline operated on was consumed by mining operations, the railway became redundant and many of the remaining historical sites, such as Boulder Station, fell into disrepair.
