COLORADO HDR Constructors has started building a 20-MW anaerobic digester facility, near LaSalle. The facility's feedstocks will include cow manure from local dairy farms, used restaurant grease and spoiled products from retail grocers. It will produce renewable natural gas, organic compost and liquid soil amendment products. The renewable natural gas will be supplied to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. The project owner is EDF Renewable Energy. The facility is expected to begin operating in 2015. The project is valued at between $5 million and $10 million.
