Bodell Construction has started building a 6.7-MW biomass-to-energy powerplant for Green Energy Hawaii in Poipu on Kauai. The project team will build an administration building, a boiler house, a turbine house, a fuel-storage area, a raw-water tank and a power substation. The plant will burn wood waste and short-rotation trees grown on the 2,000-acre site. The job is valued at $90 million.
