Pier 15 Exploratorium Becomes Model for Sustainable Design

The 800-ft-long Pier 15 in San Francisco, erected nearly a century ago, has undergone a complete renovation to become the new Exploratorium, a 330,000-sq-ft, LEED~®-Gold facility that is net-zero carbon and net-zero energy use. Uponor also projects it to be 57% more efficient than the ASHRAE 90.1 baseline standard for a typical U.S. museum, thanks in part to a unique radiant heating and cooling system.
