Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. is planning to build the Bridgestone Research & Development facility in Mesa. The project entails constructing a two-story, 18,000-sq-ft main-process building and an 8,200-sq-ft office-and-lab building, which will house a team of scientists and engineers evaluating the potential of the guayule shrub to provide rubber for tires. It is being designed by Louis Perry and Associates. The project is valued at between $5 million and $10 million.
