Last month's story about the March 2018 Florida International University pedestrian bridge collapse was among the most heavily viewed on ENR.com. It described the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's criticisms of FIGG Bridge Engineers, the bridge designer, for alleged errors that included a nonredundant concrete truss design, the lack of all state-mandated design peer reviews and failures to assess the risk from widening cracks just prior to collapse. FIGG continues to deny responsibility for the collapse. Here's a sample of the many comments and questions posted.
