摘要

In the circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna (CP-DRA), the one-point feed method with a simplified configuration of the feed system is studied. Although the CP-DRA using a rectangular dielectric body requires a simple fabrication process, the excitation condition for a circular polarization is not clear yet. This paper studies a design method for a CP-DRA generating a circular polarization with one probe placed at the external location of a rectangular dielectric body. As the first step of the design, the procedure used in the design of a conventional circularly polarized microstrip antenna is applied to this CP-DRA. In the second stage of the design, an optimum structure of the CP-DRA generating a circular polarization with matching to a feed system is determined by an iterative analysis of the structure including the excitation section by means of the modal polarization current model method (M-PCMM). It is shown in the second stage of the design that the M-PCMM is useful.
