0201 Components Challenge Design and Assembly

Very small passives, such as 0201 (0.02 in. × 0.01 in.) components, are finding their way into designs that were previously pri- marily dominated by 0603 and 0402 pack-ages. Although the driving force of these ultra small packages is cell phones, pagers, lap- tops and personal assistants, other designs are starting to look towards 0201s to increase board density and overall size of the finished product.
