Irvine, Calif.―Lantronix Inc. says its UDS100 single-port device server allows OEM engineers to network almost any product, from home appliances to medical systems, in less than 30 minutes. The device server, which is smaller than a deck of playing cards, plugs directly into a product's serial port and allows engineers to add network connectivity without making hardware or software changes. Lantronix engineers say the server can be used in conjunction with almost any product that has a serial port, including HVAC systems, PC-based projectors, home appliances, factory machinery and medical equipment.
