Microscopic Ball Lightning?

E. H. Lewis speculated that the pitting of metals exposed to high voltage could be caused by microscopic ball lightning. He classified observations in terms of five categories of traces of ball lightning. He claims microscopic ball lightning is the same phenomenon as Ken Shoulders' electrum validum, Winston Bostick's filaments and plasmoids, and G.A. Mesyats' ectons.
