Austriamicrosystems'AS1364 is capable of delivering up to 1A while operating at lowest dropout voltages. It operates from a 2 to 5.5V supply, making it ideal for dual or triple standard-cell and single Li-Ion battery powered applications. Offering a low dropout voltage of 140mV typ @ 1A with a low quiescent current of 35μA during operation and 10nA during shutdown, battery life time is maximized when using AS1364. The AS1364 is available as an adjustable version or with pre-programmed output voltages in the range between 1.2 to 5.0V with an output voltage accuracy of excellent 2% (@ 1A, worst case) or better. While the adjustable version allows highest flexibility in design and does not require a bypass capacitance, the preprogrammed versions offer improved noise performance through a bypass pin. The noise is therefore improved from 50μVrms of the adjustable version to 10μVrms of the pre-programmed versions. Additionally, the AS1364 offers a power-ok output that signals when the output voltage drops out of regulation by 6% typically.
