PIR is a global, not-for-profit organization and the official registry operator for the .ORG domain. With 8.5 million registered domains, .ORG has been shaped by the global community as the place to express ideas, knowledge, and causes on the Internet. The CEO is seeking an entrepreneurial CMO who will be a true business partner, participating in growing the enterprise while maintaining the reputation of .ORG as a domain name that communicates trust, credibility, and community interest. The final candidate will work closely with the Board, staff and Internet community, building brand awareness and advancing the mission of PIR through a consultative approach to leadership, collaborating and building coalitions in a dynamic and complex industry environment. The successful candidate will have proven international marketing credentials in both B2B and B2C enterprises. He/she will have made material contributions to establishing and growing a product or service in new international markets. It is essential that the CMO have the sensibilities to balance capitalistic metrics for success with the mission-driven values of PIR. The CMO will be based in Reston, Virginia, which is in suburban Washington, DC.
