Country Programme Manager

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. It does so by financing programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and by advocating at the local, national and international level for policies that enable poor rural people to overcome poverty. We are looking for a Country Programme Manager, grade P-4/P-5, Near East, North Africa and Europe Division to be posted to Khartoum, the Republic of the Sudan. IFAD has maintained a country presence, hosted in UNDP, since December 2005. The Sudan Country Programme is one of the largest IFAD cofinanced portfolios in the region. It is currently composed of eight investment projects and three technical assistance grants for a total cost of approximately US$200 million.
