The dredging major's encouraging performance was also seen in its record revenue of €2.7Bn ($3.8Bn) - up 23% - and a "very healthy orderbook". The company attributed its performance in part to a very strong operational year and also to the contribution from Smit International, bought for €1.35Bn in 2010. Boskalis's core dredging and earthmoving activities performed very well, which the company ascribed to "high-quality orderbook projects". The orderbook for Boskalis (including Smit) stood at €3.2Bn at the end of 2010, up from the previous year's €2.8Bn.
