摘要

The starting point for Foundation, a piece by Katrin Sigurdardottir at the Venice Art Biennale, was this year's location for Iceland's presentation, the laundry room of an old Baroque palazzo. Always interested in the themes of distance, memory and their integration with art and architecture, the artist constructed a section of a raised floor, designed, decorated and built entirely by hand.
