Clarian Labs in Harmony With Surroundings

With its curving glass and brick facades, Clarian Health Partners' new Consolidated Laboratory Facility seems to flow into the scenic overlook of downtown Indianapolis's Central Canal. Keeping the gleaming new 180,000-sq-ft facility in harmony with its surroundings was accomplished in part by utilizing efficient and affordable energy services from Citizens Thermal Energy, according to Douglas Morris, vice president, operations and facilities, for Clarian Health Partners. The facility opened in April 2006. The Citizens Thermal Energy and Clarian Health partnership began in 1957 when Methodist Hospital (one of Clarian Health's three founding hospitals) was connected to Citizen's district steam system. The partnership has continued to grow over the years and currently includes the supply of steam and chilled-water service to other Clarian facilities such as Riley Children's Hospital, Indiana University Hospital and now the Consolidated Laboratory Facilitv.
