A paint for forming a multicolor pattern comprises a component for forming a transparent coating and three kinds of coloring particles. A method for determining a blend of paints for forming a multicolor pattern comprises a step (S4) of determining tristimulus values of target colors including the surrounding color and a color similar to the surrounding color, a step (S5) of selecting one of the target colors, a step (S6) of selecting three kinds of coloring particles from a database where information specifying coloring particles and tristimulus values associated with the information are recorded, and a step (S7) of determining the blending quantities of the coloring particles by solving simultaneous equations whose constants are tristimulus values of the target color, whose coefficients are the tristimulus values of the selected three kinds of coloring particles, and whose variables are the blending quantities of the selected three kinds of coloring particles.
