PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a determination method of formulation information on paint capable of generating desired multi-color paint and visual information on a base material, its program, and a recording medium. PSOLUTION: In a computer including control means and display means, the control means of the determination method comprises the steps of: determining the visual information on a plurality of spots on a multi-color image to determine colorant particles and the base material for reproducing the visual information on each spot (S2); making one of the visual information among the plurality of visual information correspond to each picture element of the collar image to determine the formulation ratio of the colorant particle according to the number of picture elements corresponding to the same visual information (S3); determining conditions for generating multi-color image data using the visual information corresponding to the colorant particle, the visual information corresponding to a base material, the formulation ratio, and the size of the colorant particle (S4, S6); and generating the multi-color image data according to the determined conditions to display them on display means (S5, S7).
