CHP 2012: Industrial energy efficiency and opportunities for CHP

The CHP 2012 Conference and Trade Show, co-hosted by IDEA and the Texas Combined Heat & Power Initiative (TXCHPI), a nonprofit association supporting CHP technology in Texas industrial, commercial and institutional settings, brought together 300 participants from more than 180 leading organizations from throughout Texas and beyond. Held Oct. 15-16 in Houston at the Marriott Westchase hotel, the event included informative presentations, engaging panel discussions featuring industry leaders, addresses from two distinguished experts and lively conversation in the exhibit hall. Conference host Thermal Energy Corp. (TECO) welcomed CHP 2012 to Houston by inviting attendees to tour its 48 MW CHP plant, 8.8 million-gal thermal energy storage tank and 120,000-ton district cooling system - the largest in the U.S.
