To elucidate the relation between every stage among short interval successive partial hepateclomy (SISPH) and cell proliferation. Western blot was used to detect in vitro TNF-α, c-myc, p53, p21, PCNA, Bcl-2, TGF-β gene expression about 0, 4, 40, 76, 112 hour stage among short interval successive partial hcpatectomy. Results showed TNF-α and c-myc expressed highest level at 4h following SISPH, p53 and PCNA were not significantly changed. Expression of p53 and PCNA reached peak and Bcl-2 also up-regulated at 40 and 76h in SISPH. At 112h in SISPH, the expression of P53, PCNA and TGF-β was higher than that of control, Bcl-2 was lower than that of control. Therefore hepatocyte was triggered from G0 stage to G1 stage at 4h following SISPH. Cell division was blooming at 40 and 76h in SISPH. At 112h in SISPH, cell proliferation was still but lower than 40h and 76h, cell apoptosis was enhanced and this may be connected with hepatic tissue structure reconstruction and adjust-ment for function.
