Thinking about thinking: learning at a different level

Much more could be said about ways to address the ability to learn to meta-think. However all I have wanted to do here is to flag up the issue and prompt some attention to it. It does appear that so-called strategic thinkers are able to meta-think as are many successful entrepreneurs. It also seems likely that educational processes that compartmentalize knowledge are a major culprit in reducing the chances of Meta-thinking. If you can just keep your thoughts on the subject being examined in school or university you may find it easier to get good grades - but at what cost?
