Uganda lays out $1.5bn utility upgrade plan

Uganda's National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is set to spend UGX5.4 trillion ($1.5 billion) over the next five years to extend water and sewage services and facilitate the country's industrialisation. The goals are laid out in NWSC's 2021-2024 Corporate Plan, released at the end of last month. Although the plan officially covers a three-year period, NWSC said it had made provisions for the period until 2026, to align its goals with high-level government initiatives such as the National Development Plan Framework and the Government Manifesto.
