Afterword

摘要

It is a great privilege to write an afterword for these discussions and be able to reflect on the considerable work and intellectual weight of the contributions and author responses. In reading the books and subsequently the forum pieces, we were able to reflect upon our experience convening the Millennium 2018 conference on 'Revolution & Resistance in World Polities'. It is something we brought up in our conversations with each other over the months and you'll see occasional reference to it in the discussion below. We have modelled this afterword on the book club-type questions one might find at the end of a novel. If we hold these discussions together as one continuous piece, then this afterword is the sort of debate one might have over a pint or a coffee-but travelled and formed by the realities of a pandemic, far-flung contributors, and the technologies that connect us.
