摘要

To identify factors affecting the occurrence of congestions, it is required to analyze their cycles. Based on statistical data and using the least square method, this paper makes a correct selection of numerical parameters. An analytical trend expression has been found as a result of solving a system of trigonometric equations by observation points. Values of time series regarding the number of vehicles arriving to an intersection with the red light turned on are defined. The function used in observation points is the basis of analytical trend approximation. Based on the data obtained, it turns out to be possible to define the cycle of congestion occurrence. The results of the identified dependency of congestion occurrence on seasonal and time factors help predict congestion occurrence, which allows minimizing this phenomenon.
