Self-expandable metallic stent placement is a well-established treatment for malignant colonic obstruction. 1-3However, colonic stent placement for tumors close to theanal verge is challenging because of the likelihood of severepain resulting from the close proximity to the dentate line. 4Precise deployment of a stent for tumors close to the analverge is technically difficult.
