SAT-261 PROPORTION AND RISK FACTORS OF HYPERHYDRATION IN TWICE WEEKLY MAINTENANCE HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS IN CIPTO MANGUNKUSUMO GENERAL HOSPITAL, INDONESIA

Introduction: Hyperhydration remains a challenge faced by many end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients despite routine hemodialysis (HD)and is associated with increased risks of morbidity and mortality. Thehydration status of HD patients depends of ultrafiltration, dialysis ses-sion length, and frequency of HD per week. Chazot et al from TassinFrance using brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) cut-off point of >356 pg/mlfound the prevalence of hyperhydration, in patients who underwentthrice weekly 8-hour sessions of HD was 33.4%. This group of patientswas also found to have 4.09 times higher risk of mortality. The Indo-nesian National Health Insurance only covers for twice weekly dialysissessions due to financial limitations and Indonesian patients’ bodyweight being lower than that of Caucasian patients. The lesser frequencyof HD sessions in Indonesian patients might reduce the efficacy of waterremoval and increase the risk of hyperhydration. This study aims todetermine the correlation between twice weekly dialysis patients’ hy-dration status and age, predialysis systolic blood pressure (SBP), inter-dialytic weight gain (IDWG), and ultrafiltration (UF) volume.
