We were intrigued by Kim’s paper [1]. As seniormedical students in the UK, it is our opinion thatMedical Schools serve to enhance and maintain intrinsicempathy, as opposed to teaching an individual how to beempathetic [2]. We believe this is achieved in two funda-mental ways: early patient interactions and teachingdevoted to communication skills.
