STUDY OF A MECHANISM FOR GENERATING CISSOID

In the paper, data on the geometric construction of the cissoid are given and some mechanisms that generate it are presented. The analysis of a mechanism created by Artobolevskii is detailed, finding its limitations: it generates a single branch of the cissoid and in addition to the established geometric conditions, there are two other conditions: the crank angle has to be cycled between 0 0 and 40 0 and one side of the mechanism must be greater than or equal to those equal sides of the mechanism. Many examples are given.
