BackgroundAccording to the World Allergy Organization (WAO), approximately 20% of the global population suffer from allergies. Allergic diseases are significant due to their high prevalence, and also due to the constant increase in their healthcare cost and their adverse effects on human life. Probiotics have been proposed as an intervention for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases. Different mechanisms have been considered for the presence of probiotic properties, such as detecting related molecular patterns, including DNA motifs, through interaction with host immune systems by Toll-like receptors.
