摘要

Air Force Materiel Command is conducting a cost-benefit study of shifting from an aging mobility simulator fleet to a common training platform that is interoperable, easy to upgrade and sustain and will meet current and future live, virtual, constructive training requirements. In a new request for information seeking industry input on the study, which is set to be completed in July, the command notes the effort will inform its training systems requirements analysis. The Air Force's legacy mobility simulators weren't designed to function in a networked, LVC training environment, the RFI notes, and the service is concerned about possible mission-critical performance gaps related to networked interoperability, classified data management and cyber authority-to-operate requirements. Those risks, as well as other capability and process shortfalls, have made the existing Mobility Aircrew Training System "inefficient, expensive, non-responsive and increasingly incapable of adapting to MAF training requirements," the RFI states.
