A Large, Searchable, Web-based Database of Aphasic Performance on Picture Naming and Other Tests of Cognitive Function

Many research questions in aphasia can only be answered through access to substantial numbers of patients and to their responses on individual test items. Such data, though, are ofien unavailable to individual researchers and institutions. Thus, there is a need for data sharing. To that end, we announce the availability of a large, searchable, web-based database of patient perfcrmance on the Philadelphia (picture) Naming Test (PNT) and a wide array of ancillary psycholinguistic and neuropsychological tests. Picture naming is a primary test of lexical processing in aphasia and has provided important insights into normal and impaired language processing. The PNT specifically has featured in the development and evaluation of an influential model of lexical access.
