ABSTRACT Skin cancer, the deadliest form of cancer, must be diagnosed early for effective treatment. Skin cancer can be defined as skin growths with differing causes and various degrees of malignancy. This paper describes novel image processing approaches for detecting how malignant a skin lesion is, based on its texture feature and fractal feature analysis.
