Ithasbeenreportedthatexpressionofglucosetransportermember3(GLUT3)isup‐regulatedinbladdercancers.However,theregulatingmechanismremainsunknown.Here,weassessedwhethermicroRNAs(miRNAs)regulateGLUT3expressioninbladdercancers.Inourstudy,miR‐195‐5pwasidentifiedtodirectlytargetedGLUT33′‐untranslatedregion(UTR)inbladdercancerT24cells.SmallinterferingRNA(siRNA)‐andmiR‐195‐5p‐mediatedGLUT3knockdownexperimentsrevealedthatmiR‐195‐5pdecreasedT24cellsglucoseuptake,inhibitedcellgrowthandpromotedcellapoptosisthroughsuppressionofGLUT3expression.Therefore,miR‐195‐5pisanovelandalsothefirstidentifiedmiRNAthattargetsGLUT3,andtheaberrantdecreasedexpressionofmiR‐195‐5pandconsequentGLUT3up‐regulationmaycontributetobladdercarcinogenesis...
