ABSTRACT The aim of the present work was to investigate the potential of cubic phase gel based drug delivery system for periodontal delivery of ciprofloxacin. The prepared gels were characterized for drug content, drug loading efficiency, gelation temperature, gel melting temperature, pH, bioadhesive force, viscosity, gel strength, swelling and drug release profile. The cubic phase gels were prepared with varying combinations of glyceryl monooleate(GMO), glyceryl monostearate (GMS), methyl cell.
