MicroRNAshaverecentlyemergedaskeyregulatorsofgastriccancers.HerewefoundthatmiR‐145,miR‐133aandmiR‐133bweredown‐regulatedingastriccancertissuesandcelllines.OverexpressionofmiR‐145,miR‐133aandmiR‐133binducedG1cellcyclearrestandinhibitedcellproliferation,migrationandinvasioninvitro.MiR‐145,miR‐133aandmiR‐133btargetedthetranscriptionfactorSP1,knockdownofwhichreducedtheexpressionofMMP‐9andCyclinD1thatwereinvolvedincellgrowthandinvasion.Thus,ourfindingsdemonstratedforthefirsttimethatmiR‐145,miR‐133aandmiR‐133bsuppressedtheproliferation,migration,invasionandcellcycleprogressionofgastriccancercellsthroughdecreasingexpressionofSp1anditsdownstreamproteins...
