Mineralizingosteoblasts(MOBs)canreleaseexosomes,althoughthefunctionalsignificanceremainsunclear.Inthepresentstudy,wedemonstratethatexosomesderivedfrommineralizingpre‐osteoblastMC3T3‐E1cellscanpromotebonemarrowstromalcell(ST2)differentiationtoosteoblasts.WerevealthatMOB‐derivedexosomessignificantlyinfluencemiRNAprofilesinrecipientST2cells,andthesechangestendtoactivatetheWntsignalingpathwaybyinhibitingAxin1expressionandincreasingβ‐cateninexpression.WealsosuggestthatMOBderived‐exosomespartlyinducethevariationinmiRNAexpressioninrecipientST2cellsbyexosomalmiRNAtransfer.Thesefindingssuggestanexosome‐mediatedmodeofcell‐to‐cellcommunicationintheosteogenicmicroenvironment,andalsoindicatethepotentialofMOBexosomesinbonetissueengineering...
