Porous sound absorbers are used widely as a provision of noise problem and its improved performance is still required to adapt noise sources diversified. In order to improve the sound absorbability by increasing the total fiber surface areas of porous materials, and to find out the recycling method of cotton flies, a porous solid by mixing cotton flies in the base material was molded. Effect of cotton flies on the sound absorption property was also investigated in this study. As the results, the increase of viscous resistance could be obtained by replacing the part of base material with cotton flies, and it was also clarified that the cotton flies in the base material could improve the sound absorbability. In addition, the local small peak of sound absorption occurred in vicinity of 500Hz.
