RFID technology being applied for the field oftracking and locating application faces many challenges. Inorder to solve the problem, we design and construct a modelof RFID-based tracking and locating system which is basedon complex event processing, that is BCEPS model. BCEPSmodel consists of physical device layer, RFID dataprocessing layer, event processing engine, application layerand data storage layer. BCEPS model filters the RFID datawhich is gathered in real time and then generates RFIDevents. At the same time, BCEPS model responses to therequirement coming from users and then generates userevents. RFID and user events are sent to event processingengine and are processed. Finally, results are returned tousers. To enhance the efficiency of processing massiveevents and the real-time performance of system, we firstpropose and design the real-time event scheduling algorithmfor event processing engine. Finally, we verify BCEPS modelby implementing RFID-based tracking and locating systemin underground mine which uses the time-shifting trackingand locating algorithm which is designed by ourselves.
