Effectiveness Assessment on Urban Planning Analyzed in Virtual Reality Environments

Public participation is very important to thesuccess for urban planning projects. This study tries toestablish two different systems, the 3-dimensional digitalmodel and the 360 panoramic QTVR photos models, tosimulate the feasibility and effectiveness of the participants'experiences feedback got from both environments, by thecase study area of Hangzhou CBD, Zhejiang Province,China. This study used Logistic Model to calculate theparameters and their significance to understand if theparticipant would be interested or not. The results showedthat different age/gender people would be impacted bydifferent indicators. It is also found that both QTVR systemand 3D system have advantages and disadvantages forrepresenting the indicators' characteristics for participants.
