TheSPIE.FOCUSArmenia:3rdInternationalSymposium''OpticsanditsApplications''(OPTICS-2015)http://rau.am/optics2015/washeldinYerevan,Armenia,intheperiodOctober1-5,2015.ThesymposiumwasorganizedbytheInternationalSocietyforOpticsandPhotonics(SPIE),theArmenianSPIEstudentchapterwithcollaborationoftheArmenianTCofICO,theRussian-ArmenianUniversity(RAU),theInstituteforPhysicalResearchofNationalAcademyofSciencesofArmenia(IPRofNAS),theGreek-ArmenianindustrialcompanyLT-PYRKAL,andtheYerevanStateUniversity(YSU).TheSymposiumwasco-organizedbytheSPIE&OSAstudentchaptersofBMSTU,theArmenianOSAstudentchapter,andtheSPIEstudentchaptersofLundUniversityandWroclawUniversityofTechnology.ThesymposiumOPTICS-2015wasdedicatedtotheInternationalYearofLightandLight-BasedTechnologies.OPTICS-2015wasdevotedtomoderntopicsandopticaltechnologiessuchas:opticalpropertiesofnanostructures,siliconphotonics,quantumoptics,singularoptics&itsapplications,laserspectroscopy,strongfieldoptics,biomedicaloptics,nonlinear&ultrafastoptics,photonics&fiberoptics,andmathematicalmethodsinoptics.OPTICS-2015wasattendedby100scientistsandstudentsrepresenting17countries:Armenia,China,CzechRepublic,France,Georgia,Germany,India,Iran,Italy,Latvia,Mexico,Poland,Russia,SaudiArabia,Sweden,Ukraine,andUSA.Suchabroadinternationalcommunityconfirmedtheimportantmissionofsciencetobeaunitingforcebetweendifferentcountries,religions,andnations.WehopethatOPTICS-2015inspiredandmotivatedstudentsandyoungscientiststoworkinopticsandinscienceingeneral.ThepresentvolumeofJournalofPhysics:ConferenceSeriesincludesproceedingsofthesymposiumcoveringvariousaspectsofmodernproblemsinoptics.Wearegratefultoallpeoplewhowereinvolvedintheorganizationprocess.WegratefullyacknowledgesupportfromSPIEundertheFederationofOpticsCollegeandUniversityStudents(FOCUS)conferencegrant,aswellascontributionsfromotherorganizations:theAbdusSalamInternationalCenterforTheoreticalPhysics(ICTP),theOpticalSociety(OSA),theLaboratoryofTerahertzTechnologyofBaumanMoscowStateTechnicalUniversity(BMSTU),theRAU,theLT-Pyrkal,theKingAbdullahUniversityofScienceandTechnology(KAUST),IPRofNAS,andRitea...
